When you graduate, you will be qualified to work closely with lawyers in one of the most rewarding and rapidly-growing professions.

The Paralegal Studies Associate Degree Program

The Paralegal Studies Associate Degree Program is taught over twenty detailed classes, each having easy to understand lessons. They can be described as challenging and stimulating, but they are also easy to follow. Each lesson will start with a subject matter preview and objectives, in addition to an introductory note from your instructor.

After that you will be given reading and research assignments. To help you remember what you have learned, practice exercises are used. You'll also take regular lesson exams, but don't worry because they will be open book and note exams.

You'll be given the following in conjunction with each course in this program:

  • Authoritative textbook
  • Online exams
  • Learning guide
  • Tutorial assistance
  • Convenient online student support

Paralegals work as part of a team with attorneys in law firms, corporate law offices, government agencies and non-profit organizations. They are very important to any legal team, and they have a lot of hands-on responsibility. Often times some challenging assignments will take them from place to place, like from the office to the courtroom or from the law library to the field. Because of this they are both highly respected and paid well.

Law firms are trying to cut costs and are increasingly hiring paralegals to do jobs that were formerly only done by lawyers. You may be able to advance to other positions with greater pay and responsibilities with an Associate Degree.
