Paralegal/Legal Secretary: Associate in Specialized Business Degree

Our day program takes 18 months for completion and our evening programs extend over 24 months.

The purpose of this program is to allow the student the opportunity to begin work as a Paralegal/Legal Secretary. Students engage in an all inclusive program that makes the ready to begin work as legal professionals and they also get to take part in legal externships (last term) where they get hands-on experience.

Goals for Employment Training:

Because of the growth in the law profession, our employment training objectives prepare highly trained paralegal assistants who can perform critical legal tasks and services. Upon completion of the BTI Paralegal/Legal Secretary program graduates can obtain positions in city, county and state governments, law firms, legal clinics and state and federal court systems. Positions in which graduates will be able to hold will include:

During the program, students learn the basics of law and get a hands-on experience in the field of Paralegal. The Paralegal program often offers guest speakers from local law firms, field trips to local and state court systems, as well as training in legal research using on-line systems. Also, students will work with national legal databases are vital parts of the Paralegal program.

BTI belongs to the American Paralegal Association (APA).
