Become a paralegal specialist at Gadsden State Community College

This course talks about the ethical and professional responsibilities of the paralegal, as well as the limitations that a paralegal faces in the work force. Its purpose is to orient the student to the role of the paralegal and the lawyer as a legal team, and to give a general overview of numerous legal concepts, career opportunities, and other related topics. Before signing up for any other paralegal courses, you are required to have taken PRL 101 and PRL 102.

Internship in Paralegalism

This course gives students opportunities to work in paid or unpaid positions in which they utilize paralegal skills and knowledge in a real world setting. To pass this course, you must successfully complete six hours of class room instruction as well as a minimum of one hundred and twenty (120) hours of practical experience in the legal field, which includes work in:

  • law offices
  • municipal courts
  • banks
  • insurance companies
  • government agencies
  • and with district and circuit court judges

Once the course has been completed, students will be able to apply real world experience obtained in the PRL curriculum.
