Legal Terminology found in the language of the laws is self-paced course for the students and is introduced by the " Evergreen Valley College Legal Terminology ". The terminology and definitions, synonyms, pronunciation and usage of words used in different areas of law will be taught to students. Students will use legal dictionaries and a thesaurus which will be highly emphasized in our courses.

Introduction to Paralegalism

The course is intended to present an general idea of the legal assistant profession, a broad perspective of the legal environment, and basic skills necessary to succeed in the legal specialty courses. Issues of regulation, a legal system overview, ethical considerations, legal analysis introduction, legal interviewing, law office administration and computers' roles within the practice of law are all discussed in the course. The course has several goals. They include the development of a running knowledge of the legal environment, acquisition of basic legal skills/competencies, and an appreciation of the role of the legal assistant.
