Program Description
This is a 30.0 Semester Credit Hour (900 clock hours) program that requires 36 weeks of training (day and evening). It focuses on developing fluency with the key aspects of the legal profession as a Paralegal. The student will study those specialized areas of the law which are necessary for Paralegals to be familiar with.
Program Objectives
The Paralegal Specialist program is multi-dimensional and provides understanding of the legal system in local, State and Federal Court Systems. All the way from the initial client interview through to the post-trial procedures, students will have the opportunity to craft an extensive repertoire of knowledge in interviewing, examination, and litigation preparation.
At the Law Library students will be meticulously trained in legal research, via classroom and hands-on training. Students will be taught to further their computer skills through the use of both Microsoft Word and WESTLAW (the computer-aided legal research system). By physically drafting required documents, students assimilate both Civil and Federal procedures.
Occupational Objectives
Only graduates are qualified to apply for entry level, paralegal positions within the law field.
