MTI College

This program leads to an Paralegal's Associate's Degree, or an Associate's Degree in Legal Assistance. The duration of the paralegal training program can be lessened by as much as a year, if previous college credits are accepted when you enroll.

Online Paralegal courses are also available at MTI to satisfy the second year class requirement. Paralegal students who choose OnlinePlus will be allowed to complete many of their classes online, with as little as one night per week spent attending the campus.

The program is two years in length in its entirety. The Paralegal Studies program consists of two parts: general education and business classes in the first year and the legal specialty classes in the second. The program offers 19 classes in legal specialties, of which six are optional.

The objective of Paralegal Training is to offer a valuable and practical education in the procedural aspects of law. Those who graduate will be enabled to serve as paralegals that will contribute to efficient and economical delivery of legal services to the private and public sectors of the community.

A legal assistant or paralegal is a person qualified by education, training or work experience who is employed or retained by a lawyer, law office, corporation, governmental agency or other entity and who performs specially delegated substantive legal work for which a lawyer is responsible; this is the paralegal Training Description that the American Bar Association has adopted as a definition.
