Palomar College

If you are interested in becoming a paralegal, you should contact Palomar College. It has an articulation agreement with the University of California, San Diego, Extension Program, which allows students to earn their Legal Studies Associate of Arts degree at Palomar College before transfering to the UCSD Extension Program to complete their Paralegal Certificate.

The AA degree in Legal Studies contains three courses that are transferrable to UCSD, Extension, which will reduce the number of courses required to be taken. Course requirements are listed below.

An AA degree is required prior to admission in the paralegal certificate program. Students interested in the accelerated program typically are required to posses a Bachelors degree.

Pursuing a major in Legal Studies leads to an A.A. degree or transfer program which provides students with basic knowledge of the philosophy of law, the legal process, legal institutions, and legal reasoning. Although this is not a paralegal or paraprofessional major, students will still be well prepared for a job in the legal sector.
