ABA-Approved Paralegal Program
Qualified by education, training or work experience, a paralegal is employed by a lawyer, law office, corporation, governmental agency or other entity and would perform specifically delegated substantive legal work that the lawyer would usually do. Except as allowed by law, paralegals are not permitted to provide legal services directly to the public.
NOTE: To enroll in the Paralegal Studies Program, you must apply directly to the Program Director before attending classes. You may contact the Program Director, Dr. V. Nicholas.
ATTENTION: This program is not designed for the preparation for admission in the law schools. Students considering law schools should look at course catalogs or speak to a counselor at the law schools they would like to attend.
CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION 41 UNITS
A Certificate of Completion will be given to those who have an associate, bachelor or higher degree, or who will be completing a degree at the same time as (other than an A.A. in Legal Assistant/Paralegal Studies) the certificate requirements. Students must receive a grade of "C" or better in the major courses in order to earn this certificate.
