A Paralegal is a certified legal assistant who can perform delegated substantive legal work in a law firm, government and corporate institutions and any other entities. Paralegals can perform substantive legal work but are not authorized to practice law. Unless otherwise authorized by court rules, the unauthorized practice of law includes any act engaged in by a paralegal which requires a legal license to perform.
