MCC Paralegal Association
The MCC Paralegal Association is a student club association that offers a sense of community among paralegal students, and a environment where graduates of the program meet and share their experiences with students and other alumni. A series of seminars on interesting topics provides paralegal students with continuing education to update and advance their knowledge and skills. Newsletters are circulated among members.
The MCC Paralegal Association is currently a sustaining member of the CCPA (Central Connecticut Paralegal Association), which is the chapter of the National Federation of Paralegal Associations in Hartford. Only selected students are allowed to attend monthly meetings of the CCPA. The MCC Paralegal Association, each fall, sponsors an area food bank drive. Students attend sessions of the Connecticut Supreme Court and visit lower state courts, because of the ongoing support of the Alumni Association. Students also attend the sessions at U.S District Court, the Legislative Office Building, and the State Library and the Office of the Secretary of State. Every spring, the MCC Paralegal Association holds the Paralegal Awards Banquet, which makes note of the successes of the academic year.
