Wiedner Law Center is known for its programs taught in a surrounding that emphasizes individual consideration for every student. In order to accommodate students with familiar obligations or other circumstances, day or evening classes are offered to full and part-time students at LEI @ Widener Law Center. In the Summer 2008 semester LEI @ Widener Law Center will start offering online classes in order to be more convenient for more students. Our faculty's considerable portfolio of experience ensures a high standard of excellence in all of our academic programs.
A one-of-a-kind learning experience is offered to students at LEI @ Widener Law Center, which has been accredited by the American Bar Association. What is paramount is that each student receives a high quality classroom education. By the time they graduate, students in the paralegal program will acquire legal skills to allow them to assist attorneys in all phases of private and public law practice, including: legal research and writing, litigation preparation and document control, maintaining case files and interviewing clients.
Program for a Bachelor's Degree. Students registered in this program are provided with skills to perform legal research in the traditional manner, or on the computer and through the internet. They become very knowledgeable in civil and criminal theory, legal writing, and procedure and may concentrate on a particular area of law through the choice of legal electives. After completion of this program, students are awarded a Bachelor of Science degree along with a Paralegal Certificate of Completion.
Associates Degree Curriculum. The paralegal program centers on legal research and writing, the mechanics of the civil litigation process and a variety of specialized areas such as probate, litigation, real estate and technology. For students entering the paralegal profession, the program provides the intensive training to acquire specialty skills and a broad liberal arts education. Numerous associate students persist in the Bachelor program at LEI @ Widener Law Center.
Certificate Program for paralegal studies. Students already holding 60 college credits are eligible for the certificate program, which provides specialty instruction and focuses on legal research and writing, internet legal research, and the civil litigation process. There are also numerous specialized areas of concentration that include: corporate law, criminal law , litigation , health law and real estate law.
