The program offers a firm foundation in both procedural and substantive areas of law including: investigative techniques, research, legal documents, interviewing and office management skills. The National Association of Legal Assistants offers a Certified Legal Assistant/Certified Paralegal Examination which will prepare the student for their field of study.

Enrollment in DBCC's Bachelor of Applied Science in Supervision and Management program is an option that graduates of this program may go for.
