Find a job as a paralegal professional

In less than two decades, the legal assistant, also referred to as a paralegal has become an integral part of the legal profession. After completion of this program you will be equipped with the knowledge to work as an assistant for an attorney and be quite knowledgeable as a specialist in a specific area of the law. Students must complete a mandatory 36 hours of core courses and one of the 9-hour specialty clusters of either Litigation, Real Estate/Probate, Commercial Law, or Criminal Law, in addition to 16 hours of general education courses and 3 hours of electives. (Specialty clusters are taught solely in the evening. They are scheduled over two terms when a adequate number of students have suggested that they are ready for and want a particular cluster.) Nearly half of the program's graduates revisit for supplementary specialization and may work towards an advanced technical certificate of acknowledgment for each specialty cluster completed (look to page 108 for further information). Courses are planned and organized in such a way that students can enter the program in any night or day term, part-time or full-time.
