Our program in Paralegal Studies provides an educational background that prepares students for work as legal assistants or paralegals. The paralegal program, while keeping with the demands of the professionalism, consists of specialized course work and a supervised extern ship within the selected legal settings both public and private which include the police administration, law firms, real estate companies, title companies, bank and trust agencies, and judicial offices. Assisting attorneys with interviewing clients, as well as preparing some legal documents and cases for trial, are some of the extensive practical trainings exercises done under the supervision of an attorney by graduate students. Paralegals are not permitted to set fees, dispense legal advice, or represent clients in court.
