The Paralegal Studies program is a series of courses that fabricates students to stand in the paralegal profession. The program concentrates on the academic, technical, and professional requirements for success in this career. Things learned in this program include:
- ethical obligations
- researching state and federal law
- preparing legal correspondence and encompass family law matters
- basic concepts of real property law
- criminal litigation
- tort law
- and substantive contract law, wills, trust, and probate
It is a program which emphasizes on opportunities that offer students a chance to specialize with legal knowledge and the skills required to aid lawyers in the delivery of legal services. The Degree of Paralegal Studies Associate of Applied Technology is awarded to program graduates.
Admissions Requirements:
Students must be 16 years old, provide a high school or GED transcript, achieve minimum scores on reading, language, and math exams. Also, previous post-secondary credits will be transferred at the registrar's discretion. Student Performance/Graduation Requirements You must keep a 2.0 or better GPA and finish all the required courses in order to graduate.
