The Paralegal Studies program is a series of courses that train students for jobs in the paralegal profession. The knowledge and skills that are taught include the scholarly, technical, and professional skills that you will need to be able to obtain employment and advance in this field.
Subjects include:
- ethical obligations
- research state and federal law
- legal correspondence preparation
- family law matters
- basic concepts of real property law
- criminal law and procedure
- civil litigation
- tort law
- substantive contract law
- wills, trusts, and probate
The program of study centers upon opportunities that offer students specialized legal knowledge and skills required to be successful in the field. Students who attend this program will be required to complete a 35 hour per week practicum, that is only offered during the day.
