Dekalb Technical College offers the Paralegal Studies program, which is a series of courses that enables a student to prepare himself for positions in the paralegal profession. In other words, the program enables a student to conduct legal research and other fact gathering activities, as well as the upgrading of their writing skills which will be in par with legal profession standards. Thereby the student is ensured to identify his role of limitations as paralegals or legal assistants, and that they are not permitted to offer legal services directly to the public except in cases of proper authorization by the law. However, they are required to promote and adhere with respect to high regard in ethical behavior, professional responsibility and confidentiality in their profession.
