Find a job as a paralegal professional

Our two year (full-time) associate degree program in Paralegal Studies offers a sequence of courses that prepares students to begin their careers as paralegals. Written, oral, and analytic skills, plus knowledge of the humanities, behavioral sciences and mathematics, are learned in the general studies component of the curriculum. Program participants receive training in legal ethics, interviewing skills, the court system, tort, contract law, and real estate practice and procedure. Particular emphasis is placed on improving the students' written communications and legal research skills.

Students are constantly reminded throughout the program of the illegality of someone not licensed as an attorney dispensing any legal advice or practicing law. The sanctity of the attorney-client relationship is focused on during this program of study, with an emphasis on how paralegals are required to maintain highly ethical principles when helping lawyers deliver professional and skilled legal assistance.
