The Legal Administrative Assistant program is a rich mix of specific curriculum in the legal area, blending academic schooling and technical expertise. In addition to specialized legal assignments, a legal administrative assistant is a skilled professional who performs all other general office work. Administrative assistants can work in the offices of public defenders or prosecutors, private or public legal agencies, and legal departments within many types of firms in other fields such as manufacturing, banking, insurance or real estate. This expert assistant is skilled at using transcribing machines, creating and modifying legal instruments and documents utilizing computer technology, and adhering to court procedures such as calendaring, scheduling, and docketing. The legal administrative assistant will be expected to perform law office public relations, filing documents and maintaining client fees.
