A legal assistant is a qualified specialist who can supervise the operation of a law office, standing in for a practicing attorney of routine sections of cases that require knowledge of the legal process, and assisting the attorney with management of complicated legal problems. The legal assistant further facilitates the lawyer in legal analysis and in the format and development of new programs, techniques, employment, and procedures for the law office. With the help of selection, compilation, and use of technical information from various legal references, the legal assistant can interpret and also prepare legal documents and analyze procedural intricacies.
