The Paralegal Studies certificate program, which has been recently revised as a one-year program, will give students the necessary skills to work in the legal profession. It promotes a greater degree of comprehension in the realm of private, public, and corporate law. To earn the certificate, the following six courses must be completed (with at least four taken at Assumption College):

  • Legal research and Writing
  • Litigation
  • Corporations
  • Estates and Trusts
  • Family Law, and
  • Real Estate Law
You can earn the certificate at the same time as a degree!

For entrance into the paralegal field, it is strongly recommended that one obtain a bachelor's degree and internships are encouraged as well. Optional courses available include Introduction to Law, Communication Law, Mental Health Law, Health Care Law, Elder Law, and Criminal Law & Procedures.
