Enroll at Marian Court College Paralegal Program

This is a great program which provides graduates with a paralegal background to seek employment in the legal field and to pursue education toward a four-year degree. While developing decision-making skills and efficient research methods to solve problems, students gain an understanding of the law and areas of specialization. The Paralegal program serves two purposes, one for placement in the legal profession, the second for completion of a four-year degree.

The Associate in Science in Paralegal Studies program equips students not only in legal skills and in-depth study in focused areas of law, but also builds a strong foundation in liberal arts and analytical skills as well. Students have the following opportunities made available to them when they complete these courses:

  • Move to a four-year learning institution to seek a baccalaureate degree in a similar type of program. Students can transfer to and from public and private universities through agreements that Marian Court College has.
  • Enter an exciting job market consisting of many entry-level positions such as paralegals or legal assistants. Government, corporate and public paralegal and trust departments are among the settings for potential employment.

In adjunct to common edification results, former students of the program will:

  • Appreciate the use the ideas of serious and logical thoughts as it concerns to paralegal research
  • Be able to communicate effectively using the legal vocabulary as is needed in the field
  • Comprehend the dynamics of the varied areas of the practice of law
  • Demonstrate familiarity with court systems at both the state and federal level
  • Be able to use computerized and manual research techniques
  • Comprehend how the professional code of ethics is to be applied to the legal community
