Gain a successful career in the paralegal field
Through education and training, paralegals are authorized to carry out substantive legal tasks under the supervision of an attorney. The paralegal program strives to provide students with the competence they need to advance their careers through a high caliber paralegal education that combines legal theory and practice. The curriculum contains the study of legal ethics, including the prohibition against the unauthorized practice of law by lay-persons. Besides what is in the parameters of the law, paralegals may not provide legal services directly to the public. Students are able to aid attorneys in investigating facts, exploring legal issues, drafting legal documents and correspondence, and preparing for trial.
The paralegal industry is on the rise in the U.S. today. Law firms, federal, state, and municipal government, banks, insurance companies, corporate legal departments and business entities, and other public and private enterprises are just some of the places that employ paralegals. Danvers Campus offers the paralegal program. Summer sessions, as well as evening/weekend courses are scheduled. Students wishing to participate in evening/weekend sessions are advised to refer to the Program Requirements in the College Catalog. This program has the approval of the American Bar Association.
