Lake Superior College
Gain a successful career in the paralegal field
In addition to the core legal studies courses of the Paralegal Studies program, a liberal arts education is offered to the students by the A.S. degree.
Graduates meet all Paralegal Studies program expertise in training for employment as paralegals or in other related fields. Scheduling primary legal courses enables students to finish the A.S. degree in a concentrated program of four semesters, but the student may elect to go longer, as it fits his/her schedule. An A.S. degree will allow the Paralegal Studies graduate to easily transfer to a four-year institution in the legal field.
Students who have not yet acquired a solid foundation in keyboarding and word processing skills should take courses in these areas as business electives, as courses in the legal studies area (LGST) assume competency in these areas, along with well-developed college-level reading and writing ability.
