Mississippi University for Women

Gain a successful career as a paralegal

Mississippi University for Women instituted their Paralegal Studies program in 1979, and it was approved by the American Bar Association in February of 1987. However, it must be approved every five years, as it has been each five years to date.

Our program was the first to be approved by the ABA in Mississippi and is the state's flagship Paralegal Studies program. A four year Baccalaureate degree is offered in Paralegal Studies, with objective of providing students with enhanced job prospects and profesional performance.

Our belief is that ours is the best such program in Mississippi, providing the legal education necessary to warrant that claim. This is supported by our proud record, and Leonore L. Prather former Mississippi Supreme Court Chief Justice does not only sit on our Advisory Board, but is also a a past President of the University. Dr. Claudia LImber, our incumbent President since 2002, has brought, along with her impressive resume of leadership qualities, a renewed sense of optimism that is even now still evident in the vibrancy of our staff and students.
