Northeast Mississippi Community College

The objective Paralegal Technology is to enable students to be employed as legal assistants, which is a common position in establishments such as real estate, banking, financial institutions, government departments and law firms. The curriculum includes legal procedural and research skills, and also the range of documents involved in criminal, tort and family law, and also wills and real property law. A law degree is not required for every form of legal work, and paralegals, otherwise known as legal assistants, frequently assist fully qualified lawyers in their work, often performing a wide range of tasks other than those prohibited for anyone other than a qualified lawyer.
