Find a job as a paralegal professional
The Camden County College paralegal program is intended to enable students to seek entry-level employment as paralegal professionals in government legal departments or law firms, by individual attorneys or lawyers, or by any other legal entity where the employment of a legal assistant would be appropriate. Paralegals perform duties not requiring qualified licensed lawyers, but that are normally carried out by attorneys, such as in the preparation of routine legal documents such as wills and contracts, assisting in preparing cases for trial, compiling and assessing information from law libraries and other legal reference sources, researching and investigating facts, and carrying out analysis of and dealing with procedural problems.
The objective of the program is to:
- Enable students to gain employment as legal assistants or paralegals
- Develop an understanding in the student of the legal environment, and educate students in a knowledge of legal matters appertaining to paralegal duties
- Develop a knowledge and understanding of legal writing and research of legal matters
- Teach practical skills in aspects of law such as estate and family law, and litigation and ensure that the graduate has gained sufficient knowledge in these areas

- Legal departments of insurance companies, financial institutions, etc.
- Prosecutors' or Public defenders offices
- Government agencies
- Legal Aid offices
- Individual law offices
