Enroll at Warren County Community College Paralegal Program

The program for the Legal Studies Certificate has been design to enable students to become familiar with legal terminology and the structure of American law-courts. Among exercises provided are those designed to educate the student in ethical codes, brief case opinions, case fact patterns and also draft letters, memoranda, briefs and pleadings. It is helpful for the student to have a background of business and office skills, and an interest in paralegal work and of the legal field in general is essential. Paralegals work under the supervision of a qualified attorney, and are not able to give legal advice to clients. The American Bar Association requires 18 credits of legal specialty courses, and the Certificate Program does this. Students can therefore study various aspects of substantive law while also becoming familiar with research techniques.
