Hilbert College

The exiting world of paralegal studies awaits you

The Paralegal studies program offered by Hilbert is the most established and oldest such program in Western New York. It is not only a charter member of the American Association for Paralegal Education, but has been approved by the American Bar Association since 1977.

By means of the wide range of courses available, you will gain knowledge of fundamental law principles, and apply the skills acquired during internships in real law offices. Graduates will be enabled with the skills and knowledge and take up Paralegal and other forms of employment in business, law and library science among just a few potential fields.

Paralegal Studies Program Degrees

The Baccalaureate degree program is approved by the American Bar Association, and provides students with a firm base on which to found a career involving paralegal studies and other legal skills. The program provides grounding in substantive and procedural law, combined with analytical skills, creative thinking and basic research. Although paralegals are not permitted to practice law as such, you will receive good preparation for the largely substantive work of a law office, enabling you to seek employment in a large number of legal departments in private or public concerns, or alternatively as the beginnings of a more extensive legal career through further graduate education.

The Associate in Applied Science Paralegal Degree enables you to take up entry-level employment and also to pursue further paralegal education for a higher degree. Approved by the American Bar Association, the A.A.S. is also suitable for the requirements of in-service personnel.
