Gannon University
The world we live in can become a better place if more analytically-minded people will apply their skills in the interest of the community. The best way to do that is to step into the field of law by becoming a paralegal or a legal assistant.
Gannon University has developed a studies program that will help you find a great job in private law firms, the real estate industry, insurance companies, hospitals, nursing homes, government offices or financial institutions.
Every legal student at Gannon can complete a two year associate's degree, four year bachelor's degree, and/or a legal studies certificate in addition to any another degree.
These days, the legal assistant profession is without any doubt the fastest growing occupation and more and more law firms are employing paralegals in order to make their services more effective. If you donít want to work for a law firm you can always join a community legal service program and provide assistance to the poor, elderly, minorities and middle income families.
You should know that the average annual salaries for paralegals range from $34,600 to $59,000, plus bonuses.
In order to graduate this two year associate degree program you must have 28 credits in professional studies including an internship, 18 credits in liberal studies, 6 credits of supplementary work and 12 credits of unspecified cognate classes.
The Legal Studies Certificate can be a post-associate degree that you can take in conjunction with any other four year degree program. This is possible only if the program director of the student's major accepts the required 18-25 credits as cognates or electives.
