Lehigh Carbon Community College
Lehigh Carbon Community College's Paralegal Studies program is approved by the American Bar Association (ABA) and was especially developed for students possessing college credit and willing to pursuit a paralegal career.
Admission is conditional and in order to get accepted into this program the student must have 30 semester hours of college credit, with grades of C (at least) for each course, of which 18 credits are distributed in at least three of the following acceptable General Education disciplines: English, Math, Science, Humanities and Social Science. All the courses must be liberal arts credits and not technical.
This continuous development of the paralegal field is offering great opportunities for advancement and employment.
The graduates of the Paralegal Studies certificate program can easily find a job in law firms, banks, real estate firms, title companies, corporations and government agencies.
You can work as a trust coordinator, paralegal supervisor, settlement clerk, title searcher, litigation specialist, contract coordinator, and so on and so forth. If you want you can use your legal skills and work for government, legal support, human resources and records management.
During the courses the students will understand what a paralegal can and canít do because there are also a few limitation imposed by the unauthorized practice of law statute.
They must also complete an internship that will allow them to gain practical experience in the paralegal field.
This program is trying to teach students to become paralegals and develop a great career working in public or private sectors under the direct supervision of an attorney.
