Every student willing to become a paralegal profession is welcome to join the American Bar Association approved paralegal studies program at Northampton Community College. Only 25% of all paralegal programs in the US have managed to obtain this rating.

After completing this program you will receive an Associate in Applied Science degree certifying that the student followed several important general education courses and legal specialty classes.

American Bar Association approved Northampton's program and that means that this is part of a select group of programs nationwide that provide the highest standards of paralegal education.

During this program the student will attend various legal specialty courses and a internship at a local office.

In time, practicing attorneys have identified the education received here as essential. That's mainly because several legal specialty courses are held by attorneys. They will teach you how to plead, handle forms, federal practices and even which software to use.

Under the supervision of an attorney you will become a paralegal and you will contribute to the delivery of legal services, work with a computer and turn into an efficient professional.

After graduation you will be able to work as paralegal, title searcher, trust coordinator, settlement clerk or litigation specialist.

This program involves two years of study. After this period, if you wish you can transfer to a four-year institution and complete with your baccalaureate degree. Classes here will be help only during the fall and will include Criminal Law and Procedure, Family Law, and Real Estate Law.During the spring you will study Business Organizational Law, Estates and Trusts, Litigation Practice and Procedure, Law Office Procedures and Tort Law.
