Considering that lately the paralegal field is considered to be on of the fastest growing professions and that the benefits of the four-year paralegal programs are well-known, this major will provide students with marketable skills for employment in the paralegal profession.

After graduation they can be employed in law office management, government, court administration, arbitration/mediation, financial institutions, the medical field, the insurance and real estate industry. They will also have the opportunity to continue legal education while practicing paralegals or even seek admission to law school.

Paralegals or legal assistants must work under direct supervision of an attorney and cannot practice law.

As a paralegal you can work in several areas including: law firms, real estate agencies, government and court offices, health care agencies, financial institutions, insurance companies, corporations and other business concerns.

Pennsylvania's curriculum is especially designed so that the student can benefit from legal education service while practicing paralegals.

to know that every student accepted for this major will be tested for English, mathematics and reading deficiencies and in case there are any, they must be remediated during the first semester.

The Legal Assistant/Paralegal curriculum is preparing students to assist lawyers in the performance of their professional duties. After following several law courses, the student must complete a professional internship in order to gain on-the-job paralegal experience. All this will create the necessary background for a student to succeed in this paralegal field.

After graduation you can work in private court systems, law firms and government agencies, offices of public defenders, corporate legal departments, banks, insurance companies, real estate companies, community services programs, consumer organizations, and health care facilities.
