Paralegal Associate Degree-Two Years

The students that take the Paralegal courses can study them online, helping them to prepare for this profession. They have to take four courses online (worth 12 credits), that are of the legal specialty (110-xxx) in a format that is traditional. If they don't meet this requirement, students can't graduate.

The knowledge gained by paralegals will help them in the future to perform tasks and prepare documents such as:

  • deeds
  • appellate briefs
  • search warrants
  • simple wills
  • civil complains and summons
  • title opinions
  • legal memorandums
  • interrogatories
  • criminal complaints
  • property schedules
  • divorce petitions
  • workers medical forms and compensation applications
  • bankruptcy schedules and petitions
  • trial briefs and partnership agreements.

Paralegals can only investigate facts and research the law, not practice law. When supervised by lawyers, they can work in insurance companies, law offices, real estate offices, government agencies and offices, legal departments in corporations and financial institutions.
