A legal assistant job is end result of going through the Paralegal degree program. While supervised by attorney's, paralegals can take interviews with clients, do legal research, get case information, prepare legal papers and documents and file them. They are usually hired in legal departments in businesses or banks, governmental agencies or law offices. There are classes both in the evening or during the day, depending on your free time. By taking classes you learn about the law theory, legal procedures and especially about the practical aspects of law. You need to have good verbal and written communication, tact and to be able to meet deadlines.

Paralegal Certificate

Being certified by ABA Paralegal Certificate is made for those that have already finished a baccalaureate degree, and they have a minimum of 18 credits in courses of Liberal Arts. To make sure that they don't practice law, they will only work when supervised by attorneys.
