triOS College Business Technology Healthcare is dedicated to helping students get trained and prepared to enter careers in business, technology and health care. As leading provider of career training, triOS College with its 6 campuses across Ontario is registered with the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. The triOS College is a partner in the Microsoft IT Academy and delivers both information technology and Microsoft Office training as an integral part of our programs.

PARALEGAL

This program instructs students in one of two ways to perform as legal professionals. First, students learn the substantive law and procedure to work as an independent paralegal in the community. Paralegals are self-employed legal professionals who represent the public in highway traffic court, Small Claims Court, administrative tribunals such as the Human Rights Commission and workers' compensation, and before the Landlord Tenant tribunals. The tasks assigned to paralegals are ever changing, which keeps the work challenging and interesting.

Students can also pursue a more traditional career path as a law clerk, which works under the direct supervision of a lawyer. Many different organizations hire law clerks, including law firms, companies, non-profits, and real estate title insurance firms. Law clerks may work in many areas of law, including criminal law, family law, civil litigation, real estate, wills and estates, environmental law, corporate work, and health care.

Lawyers and Crown Attorneys work closely with Legal Assistants. They give administrative support and lend their skills to professionals in the legal field. Students have an opportunity to use the latest technology, in addition to a thorough training in Microsoft Office Applications and Business Communications, to study legal terminology, legal procedures and writing legal documents.
